Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Summary of Duties:

Under the direction of the Manger of Childcare Services the Early Childhood Educator Assistant ensures the well-being of all children and provides support with the educational program delivery.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

- Implement & lead programs and activities for children.• Provide quality care by guiding, encouraging, and supervising children both indoors and outdoors, ensuring children’s safety and well-being at all times. • Ensure all operational policies are followed in accordance with the Provincial Child Care Licensing Board, and Community Care Facility Act.• Assist Early Childhood Educators to plan, facilitate and assess developmentally appropriate,



activities and experiences in harmony with the center’s philosophy.• Ensure guidance of children’s behavior that encourages positive self-concept.• Keep up to date with early childhood education and advocacy developments.• Assist in housekeeping duties to ensure facilities and equipment are neat, safe and clean/sanitized.• Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:

- Previous experience is an asset, performing responsibilities listed above including case management, social work/social welfare, family studies, infant mental health, early childhood development, and/or special education• Minimum certification as a Responsible Adult or Early Childhood Educator Assistant • Understanding of Lil’wat culture & language an asset• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language• Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams• Motivated self-starter and with robust interpersonal skills• Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members• Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the center’s children, their parents, and staff• Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
