Adecco is Hiring: Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (Reliability & Asset Integrity)

Join a leading Oil & Gas client and play a critical role in ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient plant operations in one of Canada's most dynamic energy environments.

About the Role

Are you passionate about reliability engineering, asset integrity, and continuous improvement? We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with strong reliability and maintenance expertise to support upgrading operations and optimize plant performance.

You will collaborate closely with Production Unit Teams (PUTs), Maintenance, Operations, and E&I; specialists to improve equipment reliability, resolve asset performance issues, and drive operational excellence.

Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week

Job type: 3 months contract with high possibility of extension

Pay: $80- $95/hr

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day engineering support for instrumentation and control systems
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations for equipment failures and bad actors
- Support specification, selection, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of instrumentation, control valves, and shutdown systems




- Develop and maintain asset strategies and preventive maintenance programs
- Participate in PHA/LOPA reviews and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) validation and development
- Lead and support Management of Change (MOC) initiatives
- Create engineering work packages, drawings, datasheets, loop diagrams, and control documentation
- Identify reliability improvement opportunities and drive cost-effective solutions
- Monitor regulatory and critical instrumentation compliance programs

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
- Registered as Peng with APEGA
- 5-10+ years of maintenance, reliability, asset integrity, and project experience within Oil & Gas, Refining, or Process Industries
- Strong knowledge of DCS, SIS, PLC, BMS, CEMS, Fire & Gas Systems, Analyzers, AMS, and industrial communication networks
- Familiarity with IEC, ISA, IEEE, API, ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and Canadian Electrical Code standards
- SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
