The Events Associates play a vital role in communicating EMP's value to the wider Sauder community.
Events
Associates help support the VP Events across the full event calendar, from mentee applications through the EMPrestige Gala. By generating event ideas, building event plans, and creating supporting resources like RSVP forms, all in service of robust mentor-mentee relationships.
Time Commitment
4–6 hours per week during regular program periods; 8–12 hours per week during event weeks and Gala preparation months.
Terms of Employment
October 2026 — April 2027
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the planning and execution of all EMP flagship events under the direction of the VP Events
- Assist with venue bookings, catering, printing, and vendor management
- Help develop event run-of-shows, agendas, and event-day logistics
- Support event-day setup, execution, and volunteer coordination
- Maintaining high responsiveness in internal communications
- Support the planning and execution of the EMPrestige Gala
- Will be responsible in supporting 5-7 events throughout the year
Qualifications
- Prior event planning or execution experience
- Strong organizational and logistical skills
- Comfort working under time pressure
- Creativity in designing engaging experiences
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Highly committed to EMP and driven to go above and beyond
