We are currently looking for an EXPERIENCED GRILL COOK to join our dynamic team at BLACK+BLUE STEAKHOUSE. Black+Blue is a premier dining destination offering the magic of a classic steakhouse combined with a up-to-date, energetic ambiance. Reporting to the Chef, the GRILL COOK is responsible for safely preparing dishes required for a full-service restaurant.



The ideal candidate should be motivated by an appetite for food and developing knowledge of various cooking techniques.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2 years experience in a similar role
- FOODSAFE certification is an asset
- Strong knife skills and workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
- Energetic with a passion for food and a positive outlook
- Able to follow oral and written instructions
- Experience as a grill cook - grilling, frying, sautéing, chopping, etc.
- Likes to work as part of a team
- Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Prepare meats and other food items for cooking on grills
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the work area
- Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be familiar with all proper norms and techniques of handling food products
- Must have knowledge of basic grilling techniques and gilling procedures

Must have experience in high volume settings to be successful in this role TO WORK FOR US: You MUST have valid proof of Social Insurance Number and be legal to work in Canada with proof as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Residence or Valid Work Permit.
