Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician – G2

GQ Mechanical Corp. is growing and looking for a full time Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician to join our service team.

We specialize in the service, repair, installation and preventative maintenance of commercial cooking equipment throughout the GTA and surrounding areas. Our technicians work on equipment such as combi ovens, speed ovens, fryers, griddles, ranges, charbroilers, steamers and other commercial foodservice equipment.

We are looking for someone who is technically robust, professional with customers, and interested in developing into a highly skilled commercial equipment technician.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair commercial cooking equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, gas and mechanical systems
- Read wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals
- Complete explicit and accurate digital service reports
- Communicate professionally with customers and the service team
- Maintain an organized company vehicle, tools and work area
- Follow company safety procedures and manufacturer requirements
- Participate in scheduled after-hours, weekend and holiday on-call rotation
- Attend manufacturer and internal technical training

Minimum Requirements
- Valid Gas Technician 2 (G2) Certificate
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence and insurable driving record
- 2+ years of technical service, HVAC, gas appliance, commercial equipment or related field experience preferred
- Strong basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
- Comfortable using multimeters, hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation




- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Professional customer-service skills
- Organized, dependable and able to work independently
- Physically capable of performing field-service duties
- Available for scheduled after-hours/on-call service

Assets Experience with commercial kitchen equipment is strongly preferred but training will be provided to the right technician.

Additional assets include

- G1 licence
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence
- Electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience
- Mechanical, electrical or electronics technician/technologist education
- Previous commercial restaurant-equipment service experience
- Experience with combi ovens, speed ovens or commercial cooking equipment

GQ Mechanical represents and services equipment from several major commercial foodservice equipment manufacturers. This position offers significant exposure to OEM training and advanced commercial equipment diagnostics. Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday with participation in scheduled after-hours/weekend/on-call coverage.

Location: Field service throughout the GTA and surrounding service territory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
