General Manager – Manufacturing

Ottawa, ON | On-Site $180,000 to $200,000 + bonus & car allowence An established Ottawa manufacturing operation is looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the business through its next stage of growth and operational performance.

This is an operations-first leadership role for someone who understands how to run a manufacturing facility — the people, the numbers, the processes and the day-to-day decisions that keep an operation performing well.

With an established team in place, the incoming General Manager will have the opportunity to build on a robust foundation while identifying opportunities to improve performance, strengthen processes and support the continued growth of the operation.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Ottawa manufacturing operation, with accountability for P&L; and site performance
- Partner closely with production and operational leaders to ensure safety, quality, service and productivity objectives are achieved

- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, workflow and overall operational performance
- Review operational and financial results, using data to identify trends, challenges and opportunities
- Oversee pricing and market-related activities in partnership with the Finance team

- Develop, coach and support the facility’s management team while building accountability across the operation
- Ensure resources, labour and production capacity are aligned with business requirements
- Work cross-functionally with Finance and other areas of the organization to support business planning and decision-making

- Maintain a visible presence within the facility and stay connected to both day and afternoon shift operations




- Support continuous improvement initiatives and help position the Ottawa operation for its next stage of growth

Who We’re Looking For:

You’re an experienced manufacturing leader who understands both the operational and financial sides of running a facility. You’re comfortable on the production floor, equally comfortable reviewing a P&L;, and know how to work through an established leadership team to improve results. Ideally, you bring:

- Progressive leadership experience within manufacturing operations, ideally at the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager or similar level
- Experience with P&L; ownership, budgeting, operational planning and performance management

- A strong track record of improving manufacturing processes, productivity and operational efficiencies
- Experience leading and developing managers and operational teams
- Strong commercial judgment, including exposure to pricing, costing and market considerations

- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
