Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 annuallyPosition SummaryThe Payroll and Benefits Manager is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of payroll, certified payroll reporting, employee advantages, HRIS access governance, and payroll operations across Canada and the United States.This role provides leadership to payroll team members, ensures regulatory compliance, maintains strong internal controls, and delivers a high-quality employee experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Operations ManagementManage end-to-end payroll processing for Canadian and U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and complianceOversee multiple payroll cycles (weekly, bi-weekly)Ensure compliance with Canadian (CRA, CPP, EI, provincial) and U.S. (IRS, FLSA, state/local) regulationsReview and approve payroll changes including hires, terminations, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and retroactive adjustmentsConduct payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesPerform GL reconciliation and variance analysisSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activitiesDeliver reporting on payroll, overtime, benefits, and labour distributionProvide labour costing by department, project, and cost centreProduce analytical and ad hoc reporting to support FinanceCertified Payroll & Regulatory ReportingGenerate and submit certified payroll reports for government and prevailing wage contractsEnsure accuracy of hours worked, classifications, fringe perks, deductions, and net payRespond to audits, compliance reviews, and government/client inquiriesPrepare and file statutory documents including:Canada: T4, T4A, RL-1, ROEU.S.: W-2, W-3,
1099Provide direct and indirect leadership to payroll team membersAssign workloads, manage deadlines, and ensure payroll continuityDeliver coaching, training, and performance feedbackReview team output for accuracy and complianceSupport succession planning and business continuityBenefits Administration & DeductionsAdminister benefits programs across Canada and support U.S. deductionsEnsure accurate setup of employee and employer payroll deductionsReconcile payroll deductions with vendors and insurersManage enrollments, changes, and terminationsEnsure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and provincial regulationsManage benefit premium payments and remittancesPartner with Finance/AP for accurate fundingSupport annual benefits renewal processesHRIS Management & Access GovernanceManage HRIS payroll and benefits configurationsAdminister system roles, permissions, and access controlsProvision, modify, and deactivate user accessConduct regular access audits and ensure segregation of dutiesSupport HRIS upgrades, testing, and auditsQualifications & Experience5+ years of payroll and/or benefits experience supporting Canada and U.S.Payroll certification or accreditation (or in progress)Proficiency with ADP payroll platforms (Workforce Now preferred)Experience with HRIS systems, including user access and configuration managementProven experience leading or supervising payroll staffExperience with certified payroll and regulatory reporting is an assetStrong knowledge of payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and remittancesAbility to work100% on-site in BramptonExperience managing2 direct reports and 1 indirect (dotted-line)#J-18808-Ljbffr
