The Collections Conservation
Assistant collaborates with the Senior Curator in overseeing artifact collections. Your duties will include conducting research, managing collections data, and ensuring all artifacts are handled according to professional museum standards. Additionally, you will assist with conservation treatments and contribute to exhibit coordination, which will elevate Hamilton's cultural offerings. Key Responsibilities:
- Handle, register, and catalog artifacts for the museum collections
- Support preventative conservation and environmental monitoring
- Engage in artifact packing and unpacking for display or transport
- Create storage solutions in consultation with the Conservator
- Assist in coordinating and preparing exhibitions Requirements:
- Completed degree or certificate in Museum Studies or Conservation
- Experience with collections registration processes
- Knowledge of digitization protocols and systems
- Capability to document conservation treatments
