The role spans employee relations, recruitment, workforce planning, health & safety, performance management, culture, succession planning and leadership coaching. You’ll also help create greater consistency in HR practices across multiple facilities while respecting the unique culture of each location.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Partner with managers and supervisors on workforce needs, employee relations, performance, attendance and day-to-day people decisions.
- Maintain a visible HR presence on the plant floor and build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
- Manage employee relations matters including workplace concerns, investigations, discipline, accommodations and terminations.
- Coach leaders through performance management, employee development and challenging workplace situations.
- Lead and support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Support employee engagement, retention and workplace culture initiatives.
- Partner with operations on health & safety programs and requirements.
- Support the implementation and consistent application of HR policies, programs and employment legislation.

- Contribute to compensation and performance cycles, HR reporting and workforce analysis.
- Participate in organizational change, acquisitions and other HR initiatives as required.

What You Bring:

- 5 years of HR experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is considered a strong asset.
- Strong employee relations and performance management experience, with the ability to coach managers and front-line supervisors.
- Comfortable working directly with employees in a plant environment and building relationships at all levels.
- Experience across recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and employee development.
- Exposure to a unionized environment is a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset, but not required.
- An approachable, practical style with the confidence to navigate sensitive or challenging employee matters.

Additional Details:

This position is fully on-site in Ottawa and includes occasional travel to another Ontario facility, approximately once per month. Additional travel may be required to support business growth or other organizational initiatives.

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and having a meaningful impact on both people and operations. You’ll be a visible, trusted partner with the opportunity to influence both the day-to-day employee experience and the organization’s longer-term growth.
