Human Resources Generalists
Location: Mississauga, ON
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm

Fam Powder Coating Ltd. is seeking an experienced and organized full-time Human Resources Generalist to support our HR and workplace Health and Safety functions.
This position is ideal for an experienced Human Resources professional with experience in both Employee and Health & Safety policies and procedures The successful candidate will assist with recruitment, employee documentation, establishing and maintaining policies, performance management, workplace safety requirements, training, inspections, incident documentation, and compliance.
The role requires someone who can work independently, communicate professionally with employees and management, and ensure HR and Health & Safety processes are properly documented and followed.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Support employee recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Assist with employment agreements, job descriptions, policies, and HR documentation.
- Support employee performance reviews, including probationary and 60/90-day reviews.
- Assist management with attendance, performance, disciplinary, and employee-relations matters.
- Document employee meetings, warnings, and corrective actions.
- Assist with recruitment and candidate screening when required.
- Ensure HR files and documentation remain organized and up to date.
Health & Safety
- Maintain and update workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Support compliance with Ontario workplace health and safety requirements.
- Conduct or coordinate workplace safety inspections.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain incident, injury, inspection, and safety-training records.
- Assist with workplace incident investigations and follow-up documentation.
- Support WHMIS, PPE, and employee safety-training requirements.
- Monitor completion of required Health & Safety training.
- Assist management with corrective and preventative safety actions.
- Support Joint Health and Safety Committee requirements where applicable.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Strong knowledge of workplace HR practices and employee documentation.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety requirements is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or similar environment is considered a strong asset.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- High level of discretion when handling confidential employee information.
- Comfortable communicating with both employees and management.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities with limited supervision.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience working in a Generalist role within fast paced work environment
- HR and Health & Safety certificate, diploma, or related education and/or experience
- Experience with workplace inspections and incident investigations.
- Experience with WHMIS and employee safety training.
- Experience with performance management and employee-relations documentation.
- Experience in Recruitment and onboarding of new employees
- Intermediate to Senior level knowledge of Ontario's Employment Standards Act
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment considered helpful
Schedule
- On-site presence in Mississauga will be required.
Compensation
- $70,000 - 75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
