The position is expected to perform light to heavy cleaning duties. Other duties may include tending to the furnace and boiler; performing routine maintenance activities; cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, and washing walls and glass; removing garbage; notifying management of need for repairs; and cleaning snowor debris from sidewalks.ResponsibilitiesCustodial ServicesClean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuumingGather and empty all garbage, recycling and compost binsService, clean and supply restroomsClean and polish furniture and fixturesClean windows, glass partitions and mirrorsDust furniture, walls, machines and equipmentSteam-clean and/or shampoo carpets or rugsStrip, seal, finish and polish floorsFollow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipmentMove heavy furniture, equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks. Notify Maintenance of any furniture or equipment requiring repair or replacementRemove snow and debris from sidewalks, in accordance with City bylawsPerform housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, performs laundry duties such as washing linens and clothing.Notify the campus manager for follow-up when unauthorized persons are observed to be on the grounds or within buildingsNotify the campus manager for follow-up when clients are observed to be breaking Phoenix Society policies, procedures or guidelinesUsing appropriate tools, collect and dispose of drug paraphenalia, trash and feces from the entranceways and walkways immediately adjacent to the buildingsSetup, arrange and remove decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetingsPerform other duties as requestedMaintenance ServicesOpen and/or close buildings, check alarm systems, and check premises to guard against theft, fire, illegal entry, etc.Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after cleaning and checking electrical appliances to ensure that hazards are not createdConduct minor maintenance such as unclogging toilets, changing light bulbs that are reachable from the floor,



and small drywall repairsNotify Maintenance concerning the need for major repairs, minor renovations, i.E., patch and paint, or additions to building operating systemsSubmit to Maintenance Requisition for supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Receive and distribute supplies and equipmentMonitor the facility for insect and other pest infestations. When required, notify Maintenance to have a pest management contractor dispatched to siteInspect and clean dryer vents weekly. Notify Maintenance of any if repairs are requiredMaintains and organizes cleaning equipment, materials and suppliesGreet contractors at the campus front office and escort them to the job sitePerform other duties as requiredQualificationsBuilding Service Worker certificate with WHMIS training, or equivalent1 to 3 years of experience providing custodial and maintenance servicesAbility to lift heavy loads as required is requiredSatisfactory completion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening is requiredSatisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form is requiredSatisfactory completion of Employee Immunization Record form is requiredFirst aid certification with CPR is requiredSkills & KnowledgeDemonstrated experience in building maintenanceStrong organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in EnglishAbility to perform minor plumbing and electrical repairsDemonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization’s mission is essentialStrives for high-quality performance and takes initiative to seek improvement in outputs and efficiencies?Ability to work independently and contribute to team settingsExcellent ability to work under pressureEmbody a philosophy of professionalism, excellence, health and wellness at all times?Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills?Effective use of time and resourcesService and results orientedAble to work in a diverse, fast-paced, and dynamic environmentMaintain knowledge of all Phoenix policies, procedures,
