About the role

AI infrastructure is scaling faster than any hardware program in our history, and rack-level power and thermal hardware is the constraint that decides how quickly compute gets deployed. This role owns the supply-side readiness of that hardware across every AI platform we build.

You will be the single point of consolidation for rack power and thermal demand — taking fragmented signals from platform teams, program managers, and manufacturing partners and turning them into one aligned, trusted forecast.

You'll then make that forecast real: driving the purchasing workflow that puts NPI material on the dock on time, and qualifying second-source suppliers so a single vendor is never a single point of failure.

This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role. You'll work at the seam between engineering, technical program management, sourcing, quality, and external manufacturing partners — and you'll be the person everyone calls when material readiness is at risk.

What you'll do

Cross-platform demand consolidation

- Own end-to-end collection and alignment of new-product demand signals for rack power and thermal commodities across all AI hardware platforms.
- Serve as the primary interface between platform program managers, technical program managers, engineering, manufacturing partners, and component suppliers on demand questions.
- Build and maintain a single source of truth for commodity demand — consolidating legacy, partner-specific trackers into one standard format rather than proliferating parallel files.
- Run demand review cadences, and surface gaps, conflicts, and risks early enough to act on them.

Material procurement and purchase order management





- Drive the purchase requisition PR and purchase order PO lifecycle for NPI material, from request through delivery confirmation.
- Ensure every request lands complete and correct the first time — part numbers, quantities, ship-to and entity details, pricing references, and contract terms.
- Apply the right receipt and matching model for each destination (lab, data center, warehouse, or partner site) and flag non-compliant requests before they cause delays.
- Maintain a consolidated purchase order tracker and keep stakeholders current on material status and arrival dates.

Second-source qualification

- Own and drive qualification of alternate-source components across power supply units, rack frames, power whips, and horizontal and vertical busbars — building supply resilience and cost competitiveness.
- Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate that alternate components meet specification.
- Track qualification milestones and timelines, manage engineering sample procurement and logistics, and report status to program stakeholders.
- Monitor qualification spend against budget and maintain qualification documentation to program standards.

Manufacturing partner readiness

- Manage qualification activities with contract manufacturers, confirming manufacturing and material readiness against program requirements.
- Oversee clear-to-build and component readiness across suppliers and manufacturing partners, including risk-buy strategy and supply escalations.




- Coordinate build readiness reviews and track partner capacity and capability.
- Drive resolution and escalation of supply chain issues with manufacturing partners.

Minimum qualifications

- NPI program management for high-tech, supply chain program management, materials management, or a closely related hardware operations role.
- Demonstrated ownership of demand planning or forecast consolidation across multiple concurrent programs.
- Hands-on experience with procurement workflows — purchase requisitions, purchase orders, receipt matching, and supplier logistics.
- Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and component suppliers, including international partners.
- Strong working knowledge of hardware NPI phase gates (EVT / DVT / PVT / MP) and what each phase demands of the.
- Proven ability to drive alignment across engineering, program management, sourcing, and quality without direct authority.
- Advanced spreadsheet and data-tracking skills; comfort building reporting that others depend on.
- Explicit written and verbal communication, including with executive stakeholders and external partners.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience with data center, server, or rack-level hardware — particularly power distribution or thermal systems.
- Background in second-source or alternate-source component qualification.
- Familiarity with bill-of-materials structure and manufacturing assembly levels.
- Experience with product lifecycle management and source-to-pay systems.
- Working knowledge of regional compliance and trade constraints affecting hardware sourcing.
- Comfort operating across time zones with partners in Asia.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, or equivalent practical experience.
