The Opportunity





We’re looking for a practical, customer-focused Installation Technician to join our Installation & Services team. In this field-based role, you’ll install and disconnect Fiber, coaxial, and CAT 5 services; diagnose and repair technical issues; configure customer equipment; and explain how services work. You’ll maintain accurate records, care for your vehicle and tools, and represent Novus with professionalism in every customer interaction.

We’re a hands-on team that works closely with customers and colleagues across Novus to deliver reliable service from the network to the premises. Everyone has the opportunity to contribute ideas, take ownership of their work, and help solve problems in the field. We value safety, teamwork, clear communication, and pride in a job well done.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Perform disconnections and installations, including Fiber, coaxial and CAT 5.

· Proficiently install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair technical problems.

· Ensure customers are well equipped with everything they need and that all technology is programmed properly and functioning, including hands-on demonstrations when necessary.

· Maintain documentation and records daily.

· Maintain work vehicle, tools and equipment.

· Availability for evening and weekend work.

· Perform other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

· Computer knowledge in MS programs & Networking protocols is an asset.

· Genuinely passionate about connecting with others and being of service to your community.

· A people person, your outgoing, positive, and fun personality shines through.

· Exceptional customer service skills.

· An excellent communicator with strong oral and written skills.

· A team player but can also work independently with minimum supervision.

· Highly organized and have a strong attention to detail.

· Able to use hand/power tools and testing equipment.

· Physically able to bend, stand, climb and lift heavy objects (at least 20lbs).

· A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Your own vehicle for work, as required by Novus’ Vehicle Policy.

· As part of our hiring process,



we conduct a standard criminal background check.

· Ability to work various shifts including days, nights, and weekends, and overtime when necessary.

· High School Diploma.

· Previous telecommunications technician experience or related post-secondary education is an asset but not required.

· Adaptable: You’re comfortable working varied shifts, learning current tools and processes, and responding to changing field conditions.
