Hanscomb’s Toronto Team has an immediate need for a career-oriented Intermediate-Level Electrical Cost Consultant/Quantity Surveyor. Preferably based in the Greater Toronto Area, you will have completed a related post-secondary program, be a member of the CIQS, possess a PQS, or be working towards the designation and understand the Canadian construction market as a result of your previous experience.

- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Able to learn new computer-assisted estimating tools efficiency and accuracy.
- Capable of working effectively on multiple tasks and demands.
- A member in good standing with the CIQS, RICS or AACE would be an asset.

What you’ll do
- Support the delivery of a full range of Cost Consulting / Quantity Surveying to new and existing clients.




- Support the preparation of cost estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to the pre-tender stage.
- Participate in working sessions and support the presentation of cost explanations to clients and project stakeholders.
- Measure various types of projects from construction plans.
- Quantify materials to prepare cost estimates in accordance with the Rules of Measurement and best practice.
- Support the analysis of costs between estimate stages and those of comparable projects.
- Assist in pricing and analyzing various stages, methods, and types of construction.
- Support Quality Control and Quality Assurance protocols.
