JOB PROFILE The IT Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure. This includes computer systems, networks, software, security systems, and user support to ensure reliable and efficient IT operations across the organization.
AUTHORITY The IT Administrator is responsible and accountable to the General Manager, who provides overall direction and authority.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The IT Administrator is accountable for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and support computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and user issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine IT maintenance, including system updates, patch management, backups, and system monitoring.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure appropriate security and system access.
- Administer Active Directory, servers, Microsoft Entra Connect and basic MS SQL.
- Provide basic network administration and support, including Internet access, firewalls, VPN, and related network services.
- Maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, user guides, procedures, and other technical documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to employees and respond to user inquiries in a timely manner.
- Purchase, configure, deploy, and support desktop and laptop computers and related equipment.
- Set up, issue, and support Apple and Android mobile devices.
- Work with management to identify and plan IT equipment, software, and service requirements and purchases.
- Provide administration and support for:
- Microsoft 365 email and applications
- Epicor Kinetic ERP Cloud
- Avanti payroll/HR Cloud
- Cisco desk phones
- Ricoh copiers
- Surveillance systems
- Cardlock access control systems
- Assist the Maintenance Department with IT support for Windows-based controllers on CNC factory equipment.
- Maintain and support IT systems to ensure security, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Stay current with relevant technology, software, and security developments.
- Perform other IT-related duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
· Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT Administrator or in a similar IT role.
· Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking principles.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
· Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Entra Connect.
· Familiarity with network protocols, security practices, and firewall configurations.
· Basic MS SQL administration experience is an asset.
· CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certification is an asset.
· Experience with the following software is an asset:
- SEMA CAD
- MiTek Structure
- Epicor Kinetic Cloud
- Avanti Cloud
- Microsoft 365 desktop applications
- SharePoint Online
- JotForm
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
· Strong technical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT issues.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
· Ability to set up, configure, troubleshoot, and support iPhone and Android devices.
· Ability to effectively communicate technical information and assist users with hardware and software issues.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating with management and other departments.
· Ability to assess IT needs and assist management with equipment, software, and service purchasing decisions.
· Willingness and ability to participate in required on-call support.
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
