Join us and be part of something bigger.Job DescriptionAs an AZ Float Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy construction and support equipment (e.G., dozers, loaders, rollers, backhoes, aerial equipment) using float or flat‑deck trailers to and from job sites. You will report to dispatch, foremen, or site supervisors, coordinate movements, load, secure, and unload equipment according to safety standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a valid AZ driver’s license, clean driving record, and solid experience hauling heavy or awkward loads. Expect to work outdoors, spend substantial time driving, and be available for overtime, weekends,
or call‑ins as needed.ResponsibilitiesOperate a float (flatbed / low‑bed) trailer or similar heavy commercial vehicle to transport equipment, materials, or inventory.Pick up, deliver, load, unload, and secure heavy equipment and supplies to/from job sites or between Amico facilities.Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections of vehicle and trailer; check tires, lights, brakes, coupling devices, etc.Adhere to all Ministry of Transportation regulations and Highway Traffic Act.Prepare and maintain accurate logbooks, delivery paperwork, manifests, work orders, trip records, fuel usage, etc.Assist with basic vehicle or trailer maintenance / cleaning. Report defects promptly.Follow direction/dispatch instructions; plan routes efficientlyto meet delivery schedules.Communicate with dispatch, site supervisors, or other stakeholders regarding delays, safety issues, or load problems.Maintain a clean driving record and compliance with company safety policies.QualificationsClean/current driver’s abstract (no major offences, good safety record).Previous experience driving float / flatbed trailers (moving heavy equipment preferred).Ability to handle physically demanding tasks: lifting, securing loads, sometimes in difficult weather or road conditions.Strong knowledge of safety regulations and load securement standards.Good organizational, communication skills.Reliability and punctuality.Sometimes overnight travel or out‑of‑town deliveries may be required.About the TeamAt Amico, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
