About the Company

Our client, a leading international law firm with a sophisticated corporate immigration and global mobility practice, is seeking a Junior Immigration Law Clerk to join their Toronto team.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and manage Canadian business immigration applications

- Prepare work permits, work permit extensions, LMIA and LMIA-exempt applications

- Assist with intra-company transfers and global mobility matters

- Assist with business visitor, temporary resident visa, and permanent residence applications

- Gather, review, and organize client documentation

- Prepare application forms, supporting letters, and other immigration documents

- Communicate with corporate clients, HR professionals, and foreign nationals

- Monitor application deadlines, permit expiry dates, and immigration milestones

- Maintain accurate electronic files and case-management records

- Prepare submissions to IRCC, ESDC, and other government authorities

- Conduct basic immigration research and stay current with program and procedural changes

- Coordinate with international immigration teams on cross-border matters

- Manage multiple files while maintaining accuracy and excellent client service

Requirements





- 1+ years of Canadian immigration law clerk or legal assistant experience

- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent legal education preferred

- Business or corporate immigration experience strongly preferred

- Familiarity with Canadian work permits, LMIA/LMIA-exempt applications, and IRCC procedures

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong client service skills and ability to communicate with corporate clients and foreign nationals

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team

- Robust proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ability to learn immigration case-management systems

Compensation

- Salary up to $65,000, commensurate with experience

- Hybrid remote schedule with 3 days in office
