Full-Time | Permanent

Total Compensation: $45,000–$80,000 per year (Base Salary + Commission)

About Pixel Homes

Pixel Homes is a growing Calgary renovation company specializing in kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home renovations. We focus on thoughtful design, quality workmanship, transparent communication, and creating renovation experiences that homeowners feel confident about.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Kitchen Designer & Sales Consultant who understands kitchens inside and out and can confidently turn homeowner needs into well-designed renovation solutions—and those solutions into sales.

The Role

You will work directly with homeowners from the initial consultation through design, selections, quotation, sales, and final handoff to our operations team.

We are looking for someone who can walk into an existing kitchen, quickly recognize its problems and opportunities, understand what the homeowner is trying to achieve, and confidently recommend practical design solutions.

You should be equally comfortable discussing cabinetry, layouts, countertops and backsplash as you are presenting pricing and asking a client to move forward.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct in-home kitchen renovation consultations throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.
- Identify client needs, kitchen pain points, priorities, budget, style preferences, and renovation goals.
- Measure existing kitchens accurately and assess available space.
- Develop functional and visually appealing kitchen layouts.
- Prepare professional 2D/3D kitchen designs and client presentations.
- Recommend cabinetry layouts, door styles, colours, hardware, countertops, backsplash, sinks, faucets, lighting and other relevant finishes.
- Understand cabinet construction, fillers, panels, clearances, appliance requirements and common kitchen design limitations.
- Help clients make practical material and finish selections.
- Work with Pixel Homes suppliers to obtain relevant product information and pricing.
- Prepare and present renovation proposals and quotations.
- Explain scope, specifications, options, upgrades and pricing clearly to homeowners.
- Follow up consistently with prospective clients.
- Handle objections professionally and confidently.
- Convert qualified leads into signed renovation projects.
- Identify appropriate opportunities for upgrades and additional work without using high-pressure sales tactics.
- Maintain accurate notes, measurements, selections and client information.
- Complete a clear sales-to-production handoff after the project is sold.
- Maintain professional communication and represent the Pixel Homes brand during every client interaction.

Kitchen Knowledge Required This is not an entry-level kitchen design position. The successful candidate should have strong practical knowledge of:

- Kitchen layouts and space planning
- Cabinet construction and configurations
- Cabinet door styles and finishes
- Islands, pantries and specialty storage
- Quartz, granite and other countertop materials

- Countertop profiles, overhangs and practical limitations
- Backsplash materials and design
- Sinks, faucets and kitchen fixtures
- Appliance placement and required clearances
- Built-in appliances and appliance panels
- Lighting and basic electrical considerations
- Flooring and finish coordination
- Kitchen ergonomics and workflow
- Current kitchen design styles and trends
- Material and colour coordination

Design Software Skills Strong computer and kitchen design skills are essential.

Candidates should be proficient with professional design software such as 2020 Design, SketchUp, Mozaik, AutoCAD or comparable kitchen/interior design software.

You should be able to independently create accurate layouts and professional visual presentations that help homeowners understand and purchase the proposed design.

Sales Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of professional sales experience.

Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

Kitchen renovations, kitchen cabinetry, interior design, home improvement, renovation sales, construction sales, countertops, flooring, plumbing fixtures, appliances or other high-value residential products/services.

Experience with in-home or consultative sales is a strong asset.

We are looking for someone who understands that excellent kitchen sales is not simply quoting a price—it is understanding the homeowner's problems, building trust, developing the right solution and confidently guiding the client toward a decision.

Education & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design (BID), Kitchen & Bath Design, Interior Decorating, Architectural Technology or another relevant design-related field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional sales experience.
- Strong kitchen design and product knowledge.
- Strong proficiency with relevant design software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong measurement, organization and attention-to-detail skills.
- Comfortable discussing budgets and presenting renovation pricing.
- Professional appearance and client-facing communication.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple active leads.
- Must hold a valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle/transportation for in-home consultations and supplier visits.
- Must be comfortable travelling throughout Calgary and surrounding communities.
- Availability for occasional evening and Saturday client appointments is required.

Compensation Expected total annual compensation: $45,000–$80,000

Compensation consists of

Base salary + sales commission

Actual earnings will depend on experience, sales performance and project volume.

Full compensation structure will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

This position is designed to reward strong sales performance while providing the stability of a base salary.

Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who can combine three strengths:

Kitchen Knowledge + Design Ability + Sales Confidence

You may be a strong fit if you can enter an outdated kitchen, identify what is not working, measure it accurately, develop a better solution, visually present that solution, explain the value to the homeowner and confidently close the project.

We value people who are professional, dependable, organized, personable and genuinely interested in helping homeowners make better renovation decisions.

Application Requirements To be considered, please submit:

- Resume
- Cover letter
- Design portfolio

Your portfolio should include examples of kitchen or relevant interior design work. 3D renderings, completed kitchen projects, drawings, layouts, before-and-after projects or other examples demonstrating your design ability are encouraged. Applications without the requested documents may not be considered.

Interview Process

Our hiring process consists of two stages:

Stage 1 — Video Interview

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an initial video interview to discuss experience, kitchen knowledge, design capabilities and sales background.

Stage 2 — In-Person Interview

Selected candidates will then be invited to an in-person interview where we will review their portfolio, discuss kitchen design scenarios and evaluate their approach to client consultations and sales.

Pixel Homes is looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and become a key part of our kitchen renovation sales team.
