We are seeking a reliable & adaptable individual for the position of Labourer, in our Rough Department, responsible for maintaining and safe and clean site. This role is responsible for day-to-day tasks directed by the Rough Project Managers & Team Leaders within their standardized work.

Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

You Will Bring
- No formal education is required, although any training related to construction skills is an asset
- Experience in residential building, construction, labour or related field
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Safety certification in Working at Heights, WHMIS, WSIB
- Experience dealing with tools and machinery

- Good organizational skills with ability to get tasks completed according to timelines
- Good communication & customer service skills
- Must have the ability to perform physically challenging work
- Motivated to work hard and be a contributing Team Member
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Rough Project Managers with frame checking homes
- Perform framing repairs
- Sweep/clean homes, as required
- Set up propane during the Winter heat program
- Clean site
- Supply paperwork and daily tasks to Trades in the units
- Mark out and spray paint cabinet locations & door swings
- Organize site supplies and maintain stock levels
- Conduct PM to PM hand offs
- Engage in standardized work training and PDCA learning
- Assist with all other tasks related to the Project Manager’s role
Working Conditions
- Majority of time is spent on construction sites
- Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities
- Work may involve exposure to weather, noise, dust, and high-risk activities
- PPE (hard hat, hi-vis & steel toes boots) is required at all times in field settings
- Physically able to lift, bend, and work in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel to different projects throughout the City of Ottawa
