We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Legal Assistant to join a small, growing legal practice focused on crypto tax and related legal matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants meaningful exposure to complete client files rather than working on only one part of a matter. You will work closely with lawyers and gain experience in an emerging area of legal practice while helping build efficient systems and processes within the firm.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicates professionally, and handles confidential client and financial information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft, proofread, format, and prepare correspondence, memos, legal documents, and client communications.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical client files.
- Keep the firm's document and practice management systems current and organized.
- Track deadlines, appointments, and important dates across active matters.
- Manage calendars and assist with scheduling client meetings and other legal activities.
- Prepare and file legal documents electronically and in hard copy as required.
- Handle client intake calls, inquiries, and communications in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assist lawyers with basic legal research and information gathering under supervision.
- Support billing, engagement letters, invoicing, and other administrative activities.
- Help develop and maintain organized systems and processes for managing law firm files.

- Assist with general office and firm administration as needed.
- Learn and adopt recent legal technology and software to improve efficiency and organization.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 3 years of experience supporting lawyers or working in a professional services environment. Strong legal administration graduates may also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, proofreading, and document formatting skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and priorities independently.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential client, financial, and legal information.
- Experience with legal practice management or case management software such as LEAP or Clio.
- Experience using QuickBooks.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn new software and technology quickly.
- Exposure to tax, accounting, cryptocurrency, or digital assets is an asset.
- Comfortable working independently in a small, evolving legal practice.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:

- Crypto or cryptocurrency-related matters
- Tax law or tax administration
- Accounting or bookkeeping
- Legal billing and client invoicing
- Law firm file organization and document management
- Practice management systems
