POSITION DESCRIPTION – MANAGER, GLOBAL TOTAL REWARDS (22-MONTH CONTRACT)
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reports to: Senior Director, Global Total Rewards
Location: While Vancouver, BC is the preferred location, we are open to diverse applicants from across Canada who will be a great add to our culture here at Eldorado on a remote basis.
POSITION SUMMARY The Manager, Global Total Rewards leads the design, governance, implementation and delivery of Eldorado's global Total Rewards programs and strategy. The role is accountable for corporate compensation including Canada, Netherlands and expatriate employees, supporting executive compensation, equity compensation management, global job architecture and job evaluation, global pay transparency and pay equity readiness, Total Rewards SAP SuccessFactors technology implementation, budgeting, compliance, communications and vendor management. In addition, this role oversees global compensation programs and provides support to regional total rewards teams.
Working closely with Corporate and regional HR, Payroll & Benefits, Finance and business leaders, the Manager ensures programs are scalable, market-aligned and consistently delivered to support business priorities, organizational growth and the attraction, engagement and retention of talent.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Manager, Global Total Rewards will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Total Rewards
- Partner with the Senior Director, Global Total Rewards and cross-functional stakeholders to support executive and director compensation, Compensation Committee materials, and the Compensation Discussion and Analysis section of the annual management information circular.
- Monitor executive compensation, governance, regulatory and market developments, and provide analysis and recommendations to support competitive, compliant and effective Total Rewards programs and disclosure.
- Lead the design, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of global compensation programs, frameworks, policies and processes.
- Lead the annual global compensation planning cycle, including salary review, short-term incentive and long-term incentive planning, approvals, system readiness, communications and regional support.
- Manage long-term incentive, dividend and employee share purchase plan administration, reporting, communications and vendor coordination.
- Lead global job architecture, job evaluation and grading implementation,
including governance, position mapping, benchmarking, salary structures, incentive eligibility and ongoing maintenance.
- Lead Total Rewards workstreams for SAP SuccessFactors implementation, including compensation planning configuration, testing, data validation, process design, implementation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and coordinate global pay transparency, pay equity and related compliance readiness, including analysis, reporting, governance and implementation support across regions.
- Lead expatriate compensation benchmarking and program design, in partnership with Global Mobility, regional HR and external advisors.
- Provide Total Rewards leadership and support for acquisitions, divestitures, integrations, workforce transitions and other organizational growth activities.
- Conduct market benchmarking, complex modelling and workforce analytics, and prepare recommendations for compensation decisions, program design, budgeting and executive review.
- Partner with regional HR leaders and Total Rewards teams to provide guidance on compensation recommendations, salary administration, employee changes and consistent application of global programs.
- Develop transparent employee, leader and HR communications, training materials, intranet resources and presentations to support understanding and effective adoption of Total Rewards programs.
- Lead Total Rewards budgeting, forecasting and accrual inputs in partnership with Finance, Payroll & Benefits and regional HR teams.
- Manage Total Rewards projects, consultants and vendor relationships, ensuring effective governance, delivery, risk management and service quality.
Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the Total Rewards team by establishing clear accountabilities, building subject-matter depth, supporting knowledge transfer and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Set priorities and allocate work across recurring program delivery and strategic initiatives to maintain service continuity,
manage key-person risk and build scalable team capacity.
- Contribute to Total Rewards strategy and operating plans that align with Eldorado’s business strategy, HR priorities and global workforce needs.
Projects
- Lead enterprise-wide Total Rewards transformation initiatives, including global Total Rewards design and frameworks, job architecture, pay transparency, technology implementation and program governance.
- Collaborate across Corporate and regional HR, Finance, Payroll & Benefits, Global Mobility, Legal and business teams on special projects, policy development, organizational changes and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years experience in total rewards with a focus on compensation.
- Proven ability to work and build strategic partnerships in a dynamic, growing, global organization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and strong compensation knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations in Canada and GDPR.
- SAP SuccessFactors experience is an asset.
- Project management experience in a global business is an asset.
- Experience with expatriate compensation design and/or delivery is an asset.
- Experience working within the mining industry is an asset.
- CCP and/or CPHR designation is an asset.
- Ability to travel nationally or internationally; the expected travel requirement is up to ~15% per year.
The salary range for this position is $ 151,000 to $ 185,000. The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, taking into consideration internal equity. Qualified candidates with the required qualifications and relevant experience can expect an offer between the minimum and around the midpoint of the range.
Progression toward the higher end of the range is based on higher qualifications and experience or demonstrated performance in the role.
