Compensation: CA$115,000 – CA$125,000

Overview

Our client, a well-established CPA firm with over 40 years of experience, offers accounting, advisory, audit and assurance, tax, business purchase and sale, valuations, and litigation support services. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead and oversee audit, review, and compilation engagements within this professional services industry. The role involves maintaining high-quality deliverables, ensuring compliance with standards, managing client relationships, and supporting staff development and firm initiatives.

What you will achieve in this role:

- Lead and oversee audit, review, and compilation engagements in accordance with applicable standards (CAS, ASPE, ASNPO).
- Review financial statements, working papers, and deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Manage complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, financial instruments, and business combinations.
- Develop and maintain solid client relationships, identifying opportunities for value-added services.
- Coordinate engagement planning, staffing, and scheduling to meet deadlines and budget targets.
- Monitor engagement profitability, identifying opportunities for additional billing and process improvements.
- Enforce quality control procedures and support the firm's System of Quality Management (SoQM).
- Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns.
- Communicate professionally with clients, industry professionals, and government agencies.
- Lead and mentor staff, providing constructive feedback and performance evaluations.
- Contribute to proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.




- Facilitate training sessions and participate in management meetings.

What you will bring to this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA designation completed or in progress.
- 5–8 years of public accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of auditing standards (CAS), accounting standards (ASPE, ASNPO), and income tax (ITAs).
- Strong technological proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio, and accounting software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, and QuickBooks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to stakeholders and produce high-quality documentation.
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to foster positive professional relationships with clients and team members.
- Experience managing engagement budgets and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to professional development.

Additional Qualifications:
- Completion of the Licensed Public Accountant (LPA) designation is preferred.
