The Rad Tech II is responsible for performing radiological procedures for the purpose of medical diagnosis, including but not limited to: assessing requisitions for appropriate examinations, views and equipment required; obtaining pertinent patient information; liaising and coordinating with the attending Radiologist and Surgeon while in the OR; ensuring patientsare informed about procedures and are properly prepared prior to commencement of exams; selecting techniques toprovide quality imaging while keeping radiation exposure to patients and staff as low as possible; practicing sterile technique when required; and performing clericalduties related to the care of the patient.Hours of WorkVariable shift lengths; days, nights, weekends and holidays.Your QualificationsGraduate of an approved school of Radiological Technology required.Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) required.Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) program within the last 12 months or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate required.Paediatric imaging experience is an asset.Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team required.Well‑developed decision‑making, interpretation, negotiation and problem‑solving skills required.Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.Competency in other languages will be considered an asset.An offer of employment is conditional upon the completion and satisfactory results of all applicable background checks and confirmation of credentials.#J-18808-Ljbffr
