But that’s what makes the journey worthwhile.So, lace up your boots and let’s tackle the climb together.The Senior Payroll Manager is responsible for leading payroll and benefits delivery at Riverside Natural Foods across Canada and the US. This role ensures payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable regulations for a diverse employee population.The role partners closely with People & Values, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support payroll operations, benefits and pension administration, and ongoing compliance. The Senior Payroll Manager is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, and accountability while strengthening payroll controls and processes.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-national workforce, including hourly, salaried, full-time, and part-time employeesEnsure compliance with all provincial, state, federal, and local payroll legislation and regulatory requirementsManage payroll calendars, reconciliations, and year-end activities, including T4s, T4As, RL-1s, and US equivalentsServe as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues, discrepancies, and employee inquiriesConduct regular payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and data integrityMaintain and continuously improve payroll processes, documentation, and internal controlsBuild strong cross-functional partnerships internally to support business needs and ensure seamless payroll deliveryDemonstrate leadership by providing clear direction, exercising sound judgment, and driving accountability across payroll processes and stakeholdersAct as the main point of contact with the external payroll provider, ensuring accurate data exchange, compliance, and issue resolutionSupport the administration and ongoing improvement of benefits and pension programsLeverage payroll systems and tools, including SAP integration, to support efficient and reliable payroll operationsKey Qualifications5+ years of progressive experience in payroll and advantages, preferably in a multi-national environmentStrong working knowledge of Canadian and US payroll requirementsPCP,



CPM, or equivalent designation from the National Payroll Institute preferredHands‑on experience with payroll systems; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an assetStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a practical, solution‑oriented approachProven ability to lead through influence, communicate clearly, and partner effectively across functionsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing prioritiesSalary Range$125,000 - $140,000 CADAt Riverside, we are committed to transparency and fairness in our compensation and job posting practices.
