Job Overview

Deca Health and Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. Our clinic serves individuals across various age groups, providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. The ideal candidate has experience in a hospital, clinical, or rehabilitation setting, particularly in pediatrics, geriatrics, or acute care.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to enhance daily function. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ functional abilities and limitations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving independence in daily activities.
- Provide rehabilitation strategies for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, or cognitive impairments.
- Implement adaptive techniques and recommend assistive devices to support daily function and enhance mobility.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, home modifications, and workplace adjustments.
- Monitor patient progress, reassess treatment plans,



and document care activities in compliance with regulatory and clinic standards.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment strategies.
- Stay updated with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy to enhance patient care.
- Participate in case management discussions to ensure coordinated care across disciplines.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensing: Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Experience: Experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, geriatrics, or pediatrics setting is an asset.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
