Description
YKDFN Housing Division is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Part time Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of the organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records
General Ledger Management
- Post and reconcile journal entries
- Maintain and balance general ledger accounts
- Ensure financial information is complete and accurate
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Provide reports and supporting documentation for management and board review
- Assist with budget tracking and financial analysis as required
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with federal, territorial, and municipal financial regulations and guidelines
- Maintain organized records and supporting documents for audits
- Assist with preparation and coordination of external audits
Financial Administration
- Respond to financial inquiries
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and partners regarding billing or account discrepancies
- Support other finance and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field
- Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience will be considered
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience working in a non-profit organization is considered an asset
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, or similar platforms
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
