Rival is looking for a Canada based Senior DevOps Engineer with experience supporting enterprise grade software delivery. This is a remote opportunity to experience working in a growing technology company that will allow you to put your signature on the direction of the architecture and engineering culture.Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for leading the DevOps team, designing and implementing scalable infrastructure, ensuring smooth deployment processes, and monitoring and maintaining the stability and performance of our production systems. You will work closely with software developers, QA, and our tech support team to oversee and integrate DevOps best practices to improve our product releases, quality, and manage the infrastructure.Who are we?When you join Rival Group, you’re not just accelerating your career—you’re also helping shape the future of customer insights and market research.What you’ll do:Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities.Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure using AWS, including integration with other 3rd party platforms.Automate and optimize infrastructure management tasks using infrastructure as Code like Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient, secure and high-quality code deployment. Assess risk and mitigation strategies during the software delivery lifecycle.Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of all production systems.Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues,
providing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.Conduct regular security audits with our Security team, implementing necessary measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.Represent the DevOps team at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and sign‑off releases.Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, continuously improving and evolving the DevOps processes and tools.What you'll have:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Please note, we are open to both Senior DevOps Engineer or Lead DevOps Engineer roles.Strong experience with cloud platforms, ideally with AWS.Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestrations using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS SDK, Shell scripts.Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket Pipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.Experience in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like AWS ECS/Kubernetes.Solid understanding and knowledge of cloud networking and pipeline security measures,
