Our team provides Physiotherapy and Chiropractic services with a focus on personalized, patient-centred care to support recovery, mobility, and overall well-being.

We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and motivated Physiotherapy Assistants (PTAs) to join our clinical team in both part-time and full-time capacities.

Job Summary

As a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA), you will work closely with our physiotherapists to support the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

The successful candidate will assist with treatment preparation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, equipment setup, clinic flow, and general patient support under the direction and supervision of a physiotherapist.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, professional, comfortable working directly with patients, and able to contribute positively in a busy multidisciplinary clinic environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist physiotherapists with patient care as directed and within the scope of the PTA role
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities as instructed by the treating physiotherapist
- Set up patients and treatment areas for physiotherapy sessions
- Assist with the application and setup of therapeutic modalities as directed by the physiotherapist
- Monitor patients during assigned exercises and activities and communicate relevant observations to the treating physiotherapist
- Provide encouragement and appropriate assistance to patients throughout their rehabilitation sessions
- Ensure exercises and treatment activities are performed according to the physiotherapist's instructions
- Prepare, clean, and organize treatment rooms and clinical areas between patients




- Clean and disinfect equipment in accordance with clinic infection prevention and control procedures
- Ensure physiotherapy equipment and supplies are properly stored, organized, and ready for use
- Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory of clinical supplies and notify the appropriate team member when supplies need replenishment
- Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Assist physiotherapists with documentation or treatment-related information as directed
- Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and professional boundaries at all times
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, physiotherapists, chiropractors, administrative staff, and other members of the clinic team
- Follow clinic policies, procedures, safety standards, and infection prevention and control protocols
- Assist with other clinical and patient-care duties appropriate to the PTA role as required

Qualifications & Experience

- Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapist Assistant diploma, rehabilitation-related education, kinesiology education, or other relevant healthcare education is preferred
- Previous experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) or in a physiotherapy/rehabilitation workplace is an asset
- Previous hospital, acute care, rehabilitation, or multidisciplinary clinic experience is an asset
- Experience working directly with patients in a healthcare or rehabilitation environment is preferred
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal injuries, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation processes is an asset
- Understanding of basic medical and physiotherapy terminology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow treatment instructions accurately and work under the direction of a physiotherapist
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety




- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy clinical environment
- Professional, compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
- Ability to work independently when appropriate while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable assisting patients with exercises, mobility, equipment, and other physical aspects of rehabilitation care
