Our finance team plays a direct role in supporting project performance by maintaining accurate job costs, strong reporting, and disciplined financial controls. This role is well suited to someone who understands that in construction, accurate accounting is essential to sound execution.Compensation and BenefitsSalary: $75,000-$85,000 per yearBenefits: Comprehensive health benefitsThe OpportunityThis is a solid opportunity for an experienced Construction Accountant who wants to work in a true ERP-based accounting role within an integrated construction environment. You will contribute across accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost, equipment costing, general ledger support, and month-end close while helping maintain the financial integrity of multiple active projects. For someone who enjoys systems, structure, and the connection between accounting accuracy and field performance, this role offers meaningful scope and room to grow as the company expands.Key ResponsibilitiesERP & Accounting OperationsPerform daily accounting functions within Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum (AP, AR, Job Cost, Equipment, and General Ledger modules)Ensure accurate job, phase, and cost-type codingMaintain vendor and customer master dataSupport month-end close activitiesAssist with ERP data validation and financial reportingAccounts Payable (AP)Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing within SpectrumPerform three-way matching (purchase order, receipt,
invoice)Process subcontractor invoices and track holdbacksComplete vendor reconciliationsAccounts Receivable (AR)Prepare progress billings and time & material invoicesTrack change orders and contract valuesApply payments and reconcile customer accountsMonitor aging reports and assist with collectionsJob Cost SupportReview job cost postings for accuracyAssist with work-in-progress (WIP) and cost reportingMaintain cost code structure integritySupport equipment cost allocationsMonth-End & ReportingAssist with general ledger reconciliationsMaintain subledger accuracy and integritySupport audit preparation and documentationWhat Success Looks LikeWithin the first 6 to 12 months, success in this role will look like:Job cost postings, cost code structures, and subledgers are consistently accurate and dependable for project and financial reporting.Accounts payable and receivable processes run smoothly inside the ERP system, with fewer coding issues, timely reconciliations, and stronger billing accuracy.Month-end close support becomes more efficient, with reconciliations, WIP inputs, and reporting completed accurately and on schedule.Project managers and operations leaders have greater confidence in the accuracy of cost data used to monitor project performance.You become a trusted accounting partner who helps strengthen financial discipline in a multi-project construction environment.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications2+ years of accounting experience within the construction industryDirect experience using ERPTrimble Viewpoint experience would be considered an assetStrong understanding of job cost accounting principlesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsPreferred QualificationsHeavy civil or trade contractor experienceExperience with progress billing and statutory holdbacksExperience supporting multi-project construction environmentsWork Location / ScheduleLocation: Calgary, ABWork setting: In-officeSchedule: Standard work hours should be confirmed before postingEmployment type: Full-time status should be confirmed before postingHow to ApplyIf you are an experienced Construction Accountant with strong ERP experience and a passion for accurate job cost accounting, we encourage you to apply.#J-18808-Ljbffr
