Organizational context: The Staff Employment and Administration Section (SEA) within ICAO's Administration and Services Bureau oversees contracts, perks, and the Medical Clinic. The Social Security and Pension Unit (SSP) specifically manages staff benefits, pension fund enrollment, insurance, compensation claims, and provides advice on entitlements. The incumbent collaborates with the Occupational Health Clinical Nurse and HR Specialist on medical services and administrative matters.
Job purpose
Job purpose: To provide comprehensive primary medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions, to ICAO staff, National Delegations, and their dependents. The role also involves health promotion, disease prevention, and minor trauma care.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary medical care for acute and chronic conditions, diagnose and treat medical issues, manage and follow up on chronic conditions, establish medical employment limitations, refer patients to specialists, coordinate care with other providers, recommend sick leave,
implement health promotion and illness prevention strategies, and administer immunizations.
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
- Certification in Family Medicine with the Collège des médecins du Québec
- Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C Certification
Work experience
- At least seven years of full-time equivalent experience in ambulatory primary care, urgent care, or emergency medicine.
- Must be RAMQ affiliated and have operational DSQ key.
- Desirable: Experience with children, EMR, CRDS, and DSQ.
