This is the entry position in the progression line of the Utility Complex and includes the obligation to progress to the classification of process technician, according to the terms and conditions of the technician development programs and the current collective agreement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform quality rounds at regular intervals with a critical eye for the process and equipment in operation by demonstrating operational discipline

- Operate the control panel

- Switching on and off the various pieces of equipment e.g. furnaces, pumps.

- Collect samples

- Take action to resolve potential problems as soon as they are observed

- Respond to emergencies and/or disruptions on the units according to established procedures





- Regularly check the status of ongoing maintenance work

- Participate in unit and equipment shutdowns

- Perform pipe alignments, light maintenance and all other tasks required for the smooth running of operation

- Participate in firefighting training and be a member of the fire team on shifts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Be a full member of the accreditation unit

- Chemical, industrial, chemical engineering (DEC or AEC) or 5 years (min.) of relevant experience in chemical preceding

- Have a Class 4 (or higher) stationary machine mechanic's card

- Valid Class 5 driver's license
