Roam Transit is looking for aHuman Resources Managerto lead and strengthen the people function for a growing, fast-paced organization with a clear community impact.Based in the Bow Valley, this role is ideal for an experienced HR leader who wants to stay close to the work, support managers directly, build strong people systems, and help create a workplace where employees feel supported, recognized, and set up to do their best work.Reporting to the Director, Finance and Administration, the HR Manager provides both strategic leadership and hands‑on HR support across the organization. This role supervises the HR Generalist and is responsible for leading the full range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation and total rewards, policy development, HRIS, employee engagement, onboarding, offboarding, WCB, FOIP/privacy, workforce planning, and compliance.This is not a “sit back and delegate” HR role. Roam is a small, busy, operational environment, which means the right person will be comfortable moving between strategy, coaching, problem‑solving, compliance, and day‑to‑day HR execution.What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:Lead HR programs, policies, and initiatives that support Roam’s organizational goals, values, compliance obligations, and employee experience.Provide coaching, guidance, and practical HR advice to managers on employee relations, performance concerns, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, disciplinary matters, and people leadership.Supervise and support the HR Generalist, ensuring HR work is delivered consistently, accurately, and on time.Lead and participate in full‑cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, offer preparation, and inclusive hiring practices.Oversee onboarding, orientation, offboarding, employee records, HR documentation, and core HR processes.Strengthen performance management practices by providing managers with tools, guidance, and structure for meaningful employee conversations.Support fair and competitive compensation and total rewards practices aligned with Roam’s compensation strategy, budget,



and organizational needs.Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards, Alberta Human Rights legislation, FOIP/privacy requirements, WCB processes, and other applicable employment legislation.Support workforce planning, job evaluation, succession planning, HR metrics, and organizational planning.Lead or support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness activities, surveys, and team‑building efforts.Collaborate with the Manager, Safety & Training and participate on the Health and Safety Committee to support employee wellbeing and a strong safety culture.Oversee HRIS administration, reporting, data accuracy, and process improvement.Support staff housing program oversight, ensuring the HR Generalist is supported in day‑to‑day administration and compliance.Assist with HR budget planning by identifying staffing, program, and system needs.Work with external HR consultants when needed on complex matters, compliance, or larger HR projects.What You BringWe’re looking for someone with solid HR depth, sound judgment, and the ability to lead with both structure and empathy.You bring:A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A combination of education and progressive HR experience will also be considered.A CPHR designation or candidacy is preferred.At least 5 years of progressive HR experience across core HR functions.At least 3 years of HR leadership, management, or supervisory experience.Strong experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, recruitment, policy development, performance management, and HR compliance.Working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights, FOIP/privacy, WCB,
