Reporting to the Manager Procurement Construction, the Procurement Assistant (Assistant) provides administrative, logistical and documentation support to procurement staff responsible for complex procurement processes.

The Procurement

Assistant supports the procurement team by maintaining procurement records, assisting in preparing solicitation documents, coordinating communications with vendors and departments, supporting bid receipt and documentation processes, and maintaining procurement data and reporting. The position works closely with Procurement Officers, client departments, vendors, and other Government of Nunavut (GN) staff to ensure procurement processes are organized, timely, and compliant.

Main responsibilities for the Assistant include:

- Assisting Procurement Officers in preparing procurement documentation including Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Tenders (RFTs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs);
- Preparing and formatting procurement documentation, including templates, bid forms, addenda and contract documentation;
- Maintaining procurement files and ensuring accurate records of procurement activities in accordance with GN policies and procedures;
- Supporting the bid receipt process by maintaining bid logs and ensuring submissions are properly recorded and secured;
- Assisting Procurement Officers with compiling bid evaluation materials and maintaining documentation related to evaluation results;
- Responding to general inquiries from suppliers regarding procurement opportunities and procedures.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a:




- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
- One (1) year of experience in an administrative, financial, logistics, or office support environment;
- Experience providing administrative or clerical support in an office environment;
- Experience working with financial or purchasing documentation.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets. Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
