CUPE 1165-2 Custodial & Maintenance EmployeesThe Near North DistrictSchool Board is Hiring!1.0 Permanent LicensedMaintenance-PlumberEast/West RegionsEffectiveImmediatelyLocation: East /West Regions : Parry Sound, &Sundridge and Surrounding AreasQualifications:- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent- Current Ontario Plumbers License- Valid Class G Driver's License with access to own reliable vehicle- Clear, Current Driver'sAbstract- WHIMIS certification- Knowledge of essential building codes, governing provincial regulations and occupational health and safety regulations- Current G2 Gas Fitter Certificate consideredan asset- OWWA Cross Connection Control SpecialistCertification consideredan asset- Working from Heights Certificateconsidered an assetRequired Knowledge and Skills:- Install, replace, update and maintain all NNDSB plumbing and related components including but not limited to: fixtures, piping and connections for washrooms, classrooms, kitchens, special function rooms, septic and waster systems, municipal and well water supply systems and components, storm water and drainage systems- Install, replace, update and maintain components of hydronic heating systems such as valves, switches, pumps, piping and related components, wiring of pumps/switchers from disconnects- Work with and assist other Maintenance Staff and Contractors as directed by the Supervisor- Install, replace, update and maintain compressed air systems and components, laboratory gas piping, valves and controls- Act as an NNDSB contact for external Contractors and review work of Contractors when directed by the Supervisor- Responsible for cost estimate,



inventor and ordering of parts and equipment as directed by the Supervisor- Maintain equipment, tools vehicle and workplace in a sage and clean operating condition- Respond to emergency situations outside regular working hours- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude on the job- Proven problem solving skills and ability the read and interpret blueprints, schematics and specifications as well as perform cost estimations- Working knowledge of general construction and maintenance processes- Highly motivated with proven experience working independently and as a member in a team workplace- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal- General knowledge of basic computer applications- Ability to work from plans, drawings and through verbal instruction- Ability and willingness to perform the physical demands of the job (i.E. climbing and working at various heights, lifting heavyloads, workingin temperature extremesetc.)Rate of Pay: $32.26 to $33.69 per hourHours of Employment : 7:30am to 4:00 pm (must be flexible)Please ensure your have uploaded your applicable Educational Diploma(s) and or Certificate(s) to your Apply to Education PortfolioApplicants must be legally eligible to work in CanadaThe Near North District School Board is committed to supporting an inclusive andaccessible environment.
