The Program Manager will take a proactive and collaborative approach to managing multiple concurrent projects and integration activities while ensuring alignment with program schedules, technical requirements, safety standards, budget targets, and customer expectations. This role plays a critical part in supporting aircraft development, systems integration, and flight test readiness activities in a highly regulated aerospace workplace.
Key Responsibilities Lead, plan, and execute Flight Test Vehicle (FTV) integration activities and IPDT coordination efforts across multiple aerospace development and certification programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding FTV integration schedules, risks, technical coordination, and program execution activities. Coordinate cross-functional Integrated Product Development Teams (IPDTs) including engineering, avionics, structures, systems integration, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, airworthiness, and flight test operations.
Oversee aircraft modification, systems installation, integration, validation, and flight test readiness activities to ensure successful program execution. Develop and maintain integrated master schedules, ensuring alignment between engineering deliverables, aircraft availability, test milestones, and certification objectives. Manage and allocate resources effectively across integration and flight test activities while identifying and resolving potential schedule or technical bottlenecks.
Monitor program budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization to ensure projects remain aligned with organizational objectives. Identify, assess, mitigate, and resolve program risks related to technical integration,
airworthiness, certification, safety, supply chain, and schedule performance. Support configuration management, change control, and engineering release processes throughout the aircraft integration lifecycle.
Coordinate test planning and support activities including ground testing, systems verification, instrumentation integration, flight readiness reviews, and test campaign execution. Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, FAA, military, customer, and aerospace quality standards as applicable. Prepare and present program updates, milestone reviews, risk assessments, dashboards, and executive status reports to leadership teams and stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within program management, systems integration, and IPDT execution processes. Collaborate with suppliers, customers, regulatory authorities, and external partners to support successful program delivery.
Skills &
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Management, Business, or related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in aerospace project/program management, aircraft integration, flight test, or systems engineering environments.
Experience working within aerospace development, certification, avionics integration, or flight test programs is strongly preferred. PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification is considered a strong asset. Strong understanding of aircraft systems integration, aerospace development lifecycles, and flight test operations. Knowledge of aerospace certification and regulatory requirements including Transport Canada, FAA, military standards, or equivalent is preferred.
