Rate: MP4 - $74- $84/hour
Job Overview
- Provide technical support for protected, reliable, efficient, and compliant operation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and modernization of hydroelectric and thermal plant equipment.
- Plan and manage maintenance and equipment performance by monitoring plant condition, identifying deficiencies or emerging issues, investigating failures, and implementing approved corrective actions.
- Ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance by enforcing applicable legislation, procedures, standing instructions, safety rules, and emergency-response practices.
- Lead assigned projects and work programs by coordinating technical inputs, approvals, regulatory requirements, investment justifications, design changes, budgets, estimates, schedules, and cost performance.
- Manage contractors, suppliers, and external resources by preparing specifications and purchase requirements, supporting tender evaluations and contract awards, overseeing work quality, resolving technical or contractual issues, and maintaining related records.
- Maintain technical, operational, and compliance records including data collection, historical equipment information, technical reports, work-management documentation, and hazardous-materials/waste records.
- Maintain professional expertise and collaborate externally by keeping current with industry developments, participating in training, and contributing to joint technical studies with utilities, research groups, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline with relevant plant engineering experience).
Significant experience supporting hydroelectric, thermal, power generation, industrial, utility, or heavy manufacturing facilities .
Knowledge of Ontario utility regulations and power generation industry standards.
Professional Engineer designation ( P.Eng. ) or eligibility would be highly advantageous.
