The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a Project Manager to join the Department of Health and Social Services' Information Services team in Yellowknife.

This role leads complex information systems and technology projects that support the delivery of health and social services across the Northwest Territories. You will manage projects from planning through implementation, balancing scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk while helping ensure technology solutions meet operational and patient-care needs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Services, you will lead information system development, procurement, implementation, enhancement and replacement projects. You will work with clients, vendors, technical teams and program partners, applying predictive or adaptive/agile project approaches as appropriate while ensuring projects are effectively integrated into the broader Health and Social Services technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead complex information systems and technology projects from definition through implementation and transition to operations.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, change and risk.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement and communications with clients, vendors, program areas and project teams.
- Support procurement activities,



including business cases, RFPs, evaluation criteria, vendor selection and contract management.
- Oversee project teams and third-party vendors, monitor performance and resolve issues affecting delivery.
- Ensure privacy, security and regulatory requirements are incorporated throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

- A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field, combined with four or more years of directly relevant and progressive experience in a project management role delivering information systems or technology-enabled projects.
- Experience with project management and project portfolio management software and tools is required.
- Experience with Health or Social Services information systems and projects is considered an asset.
- Professional certification in project management is desirable, including Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- This is a Position of Trust and requires a criminal records check.
