- Addiction (PGCMHA) is a leadership role within the BCMHSUS Medical Leadership team. The physician role reports to the Medical Director, Complex Concurrent Disorders, and supports the PGCMHA Project Team in all aspects of the medical portfolio for the new site, including operational readiness, plans for clinical and medical operations, development of policies and procedures, capital build, HR planning, etc.

PGCMHA will be a 60-bed facility that treats people across British Columbia who live with the most severe, complex substance use and mental health issues. Recovery and treatment services like these are a key part of the continuum of mental health and substance use care in B.C. as well as a vital part of addressing B.C.'s toxic drug crisis. PGCMHA will be a part of BC Mental Health &
- Substance Use Services, a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority.

Accountabilities

This role provides medical leadership and expertise in multiple project areas to support readiness for the new PGCMHA, including:

- Clinical Service Planning
- Clinical Informatics
- Clinical Governance and Safety
- Staffing and Workforce Readiness
- Training and Onboarding
- Pharmacy Services

Qualifications This position requires a medical degree with current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. This position requires the medical leader to be located in or willing to travel frequently to Prince George, B.C. The successful candidate will also be committed to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per the Truth &

- Reconciliation Commission (2015)



and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).

As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
