Position
We are seeking an experienced FSQA Coordinator to lead and manage our food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, product onboarding, labelling, and BRCGS programs.
This hands-on role supports daily site compliance, new product launches, private label programs, customer requirements, supplier documentation, and the continuous improvement of our food safety and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve our BRCGS food safety and quality management system
- Conduct daily record verification, onsite inspections, GMP monitoring, and operational follow up
- Supervise site GMP practices and ensure food safety issues are corrected promptly
- Manage the environmental monitoring program, including sampling, result review, investigations, corrective actions, and trending
- Prepare corrective action reports and trend complaints, nonconformances, audit findings, and recurring issues
- Review artwork and labels for regulatory, ingredient, allergen, nutrition, claim, and customer compliance
- Work closely with our internal artwork and procurement teams during new product onboarding
- Manage customer and private label product introductions from initial assessment through approval and launch
- Oversee food safety, regulatory, label, packaging, validation, and documentation requirements for new products
- Review and validate claims such as organic, Kosher, Halal, gluten free, vegan, non GMO, and country of origin
- Review packaging specifications, suitability, certifications, and customer requirements
- Coordinate product, process, shelf life, packaging, and food safety validations and assessments
- Maintain supplier approvals, product specifications,
allergen information, licences, certifications, and document expiry tracking
- Complete customer questionnaires, technical forms, portal submissions, and compliance requests
- Lead complaint investigations, root cause analysis, supplier follow up, and corrective action closure
- Maintain traceability, mock recall, product hold, withdrawal, release, rejection, and disposition programs
- Coordinate internal audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, management reviews, and corrective actions
- Provide regular FSQA updates and escalate significant food safety, regulatory, customer, or certification risks
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field
- Minimum two years of food safety or quality assurance experience
- Experience with BRCGS, SQF, HACCP, or another recognized certification program
- Solid knowledge of Canadian food safety and labelling requirements
- Experience with artwork review, product onboarding, supplier approval, environmental monitoring, complaints, corrective actions, audits, and traceability
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and follow up skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- HACCP certification
- BRCGS internal auditor or lead auditor training
- Experience with imported foods, private label products, major retailers, foodservice customers, warehousing, rice, grains, and dry packaged foods
Pay: $55,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
