Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Rating Specialist with a strong background in Transportation. This role is focused on rating customer freight bills on time with attention to detail, accuracy, and proficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in a transportation environment, with the ability to manage time, communicate effectively with internal/external personnel, and ensure accuracy with high service levels for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rate freight bill Orders for: Less-than-Truckload, Full-Truckload, Warehouse, Courier, and Retail in a cross-border business.
- Communicate relevant information regarding shipments, including updating internal teams and customers.
- Resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with company internal and external personnel.
- Provide accurate information to relevant parties.
- Management of freight bills and supporting documentation for internal and external parties as required.
- Ensure accurate data entry, documentation, imaging of documents, and billing of freight bills.
- Monitor rating process and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage day-to-day Rating with core objectives for accuracy and revenue enhancement.
- Continuously work to maximize company revenue.
- Help to identify opportunities to support business growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a transportation environment, including:
- LTL & FTL operations (domestic and/or cross-border)
- Solid understanding of freight rate processes and applications in transportation (LTL / FTL )
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in transportation management system (TMS), Excel, and Outlook.
