Position:Information Technology Coordinator - SystemsDivision: Strategy and TransformationDepartment: Digital TechnologyClosing Date: 06/02/2026Labour Group: Society of United ProfessionalsPosting: 5328Job SummaryThis position leads the planning and management of server and storage infrastructure, including enterprise systems that support business‑critical services, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability. It includes overseeing related projects and collaborating with other teams across the Corporation to address capacity, performance, service continuity, and recovery requirements, recommend upgrades, and help set priorities for server, storage, backup, recovery, and other critical infrastructure initiatives.Duties & ResponsibilitiesConsults with various civic work groups to ensure sufficient capacity and availability for server, storage, and systems platform related services, and make recommendations where appropriate.Ensures deployments of servers, database engines, and related infrastructures are consistent with corporate architecture, including availability, backup and recovery design standards.Provides leadership for enterprise backup, restore, and disaster recovery capabilities related to systems infrastructure, ensuring recovery readiness in alignment with corporate requirements.Provides technical leadership for enterprise systems that support corporate telephony and communications services, ensuring availability and alignment with Corporate architecture.Acts as Corporate resource researching operating systems, databases, storage, and related platforms including vendor engagement, preparation of cost estimates, and evaluation of supportability,



and recovery considerations.Develops timelines and budgets for projects and in conjunction with the Project Office, monitors project timelines, provides regular reporting and prepares forecasts of short‑and‑long‑term projects.Plans, schedules, supervises, and coordinates staff, and other resources providing technical leadership, guidance, and coaching to support effective service delivery.Recommends the resources to meet goals and timelines based on Corporate Priorities.Maintains current knowledge of related technological advancements as they pertain to Departmental and Corporate requirements.Assists with the development of Digital Technology policies, procedures, and standards.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation, Training and Experience RequirementsDegree in computational science, or related discipline, plus formal training in consulting and systems analysis.Seven to nine years’ experience in information technology services, including three years’ experience in a responsible management/supervisory position.Knowledge, Abilities and SkillsThorough knowledge of database and operating system architecture, system management concepts, ITIL, service availability and recovery concepts, as well as general information about current hardware and software alternatives.Strong understanding of organizational structure, management practices,



and administrative processes.Knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server, Oracle, Virtualization and Storage Area Networks would be an asset.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and direct resources.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including preparing and conducting presentations.Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to relate well with all levels of the organization and external contacts.Requires Security CheckAcceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.Weekly Hours:36.67Salary Range:$86,211.84 to $101,175.60 CADper annum(2023 rates. Negotiated increases of 3% for 2024, 2.5% for 2025, and 2.5% for 2026, will apply when applicable.
