Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Housing Services, the Residence Services Administrator, is the first point of contact for Residence inquiries, triaging a high volume of in person, phone, and email inquiries. They are responsible for the coordination of the Summer Residence Program, room change requests, and providing administrative and clerical support to Housing and Residence Life.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- The variety of tasks demands initiative, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently. Solid multitasking, organization skills, and the ability to set daily priorities while adapting to change is required for this position.
- The duties of this position require competence in multiple software platforms, including StarRez, Banner, eRezLife, AdminWeb, Wordpress, Excel, Access, Word, Carleton Central, Outlook, and the internet. Accuracy and strict attention to detail are essential.
- Due to the nature of the position, a sensitivity to gender, culture and diversity, including an understanding of students, parents, summer clients, and university staff is essential as well as interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy is required to effectively facilitate stressful situations in an effective and calm manner.
- The incumbent must possess knowledge of and keep abreast of changing university policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through:
- Completion of a three-year university degree.
- Four years of professional experience with progressive administrative responsibilities, including one year of front-facing customer service, preferably in a student residence environment.
