We are looking for a 2D Storyboard Artist to help develop animated sequences for an upcoming 2D animated project. The artist will work closely with the Animation Director, exploring shots, compositions, character acting and movement, and helping translate historical moments into transparent and engaging animated sequences.
Project
The project is a sports documentary consisting of approximately 12 minutes of animation, comprising 19 short interstitials. Animated segments will appear alongside archival material, recreating or complementing historical moments through short animated sequences. The characters are primarily professional athletes, so a strong understanding of anatomy, movement, physicality and sports action is important.
The visual direction will combine realism and stylization, with expressive drawing, dynamic posing, strong compositions and a clear 2D artistic feel. The storyboards will need to effectively communicate action, emotion, staging and camera direction while maintaining the energy and authenticity of the historical moments being portrayed.

A strong 2D artist with:
Robust drawing and visual storytelling skills
Solid understanding of human and athletic anatomy
Strong understanding of composition, staging, camera angles and shot continuity
Ability to capture character acting, emotion and performance

Experience storyboarding for 2D animation, film, television or similar projects
A strong interest in visual storytelling and developing animated sequences
Skilled experience in 2D animation, on a series or otherwise
