Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join our team. The AP/AR Clerk is responsible for providing accurate and timely support for the company's accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This position plays an important role in ensuring invoices are processed efficiently, customer accounts are kept up to date, payments are received and recorded, and vendors are paid accurately and on time.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting. The position requires robust communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Accounting, Project Management, Purchasing, and Operations teams.

Duties
Receive, review and code vendor invoices and employee expense reports
Prepare weekly vendor and subcontractor payment files
Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow-up on delinquent payments
Post customer payments by recording cash, EFT and e-transfer transactions
Issue invoices and credit notes to customers as requested
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies
Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations




Assist with month-end AP and AR procedures and reporting
Ensure that financial deadlines are met and that customer service is provided to all internal stakeholders
Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
3+ years of work experience in accounts payable/receivable or related role
Experience working with multiple currencies
Familiarity with banking processes and systems
Strong analytical computer skills to interpret financial data accurately
Strong attention to details and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
Familiarity with various accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of RBC and HSBC banking platforms
Knowledge of Sage Intacct
