Pace Processing is currently seeking Machine Operators for our Afternoon shift. This role is responsible for the protected and efficient operation of production equipment while ensuring all products meet company procedures, food safety regulations, quality standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a quick-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery in accordance with SOPs and production requirements
Ensure machines are running efficiently to meet production targets and minimize downtime
Perform start-up, changeover, and shut-down procedures as required
Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and consistency
Monitor product output and remove defective or non-conforming products
Load materials and ingredients into machines as required
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary
Immediately report equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or safety concerns
Follow all cleaning and sanitation procedures for equipment and work areas
Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Follow food safety, quality assurance,
and sanitation standards at all times
Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Participate in inspections, audits, and quality checks as required
Remove all prohibited items (e.g., jewelry, nail polish) prior to entering production areas
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or food production environment is required/preferred
Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Ability to lift between 15–25 kg
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
Reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned PM shifts
Comfortable working in cool or temperature-controlled environments
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Pay: From $20.25 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
Surrey, BC V3S 8P7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
Machine Operator: 1 year (preferred)
