New Edson Physiotherapy & Hinton Physical Therapy are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to support our healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient care at 2 of our Clinic locations (New Edson Physiotherapy & Hinton Physical Therapy). The ideal candidate will assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans, preparing patients, and ensuring a smooth clinical workflow. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic clinic workplace, working closely with patients recovering from various conditions. Prior experience and familiarity with clinic settings are highly desirable. The Physiotherapy Assistant plays a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall well-being through compassionate and skilled support.
Registered Kinesiologist's and recent grads who are well versed are also welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
Assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions.
Prepare patients for therapy by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
Support patient mobility by helping with exercises under supervision.
Monitor patient progress and report any concerns or changes to the physiotherapist.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment areas.
Document patient interactions, treatments administered, and progress notes accurately.
Educate patients on prescribed exercises and home exercise routines to promote recovery.
Ensure adherence to clinic safety protocols, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Prior experience working in healthcare setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy is beneficial.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Basic organizational skills to manage documentation and equipment maintenance.
Certification or training related to healthcare assistance is a plus but not mandatory. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and patient recovery to develop their skills within a supportive clinical environment.
