NextGen200 Construction is a Sudbury-based construction company specializing in residential renovations and secondary dwelling unit (SDU) conversions. We deliver 8–10 SDU projects a year and are growing our team to keep pace.

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Lead Hand to run our renovation and SDU conversion sites. This is a hands-on role — you'll be on the tools daily while also directing the crew, coordinating schedules, and making sure each job runs safely, on time, and to spec.

What You'll Do
Work on the tools alongside the crew — framing, finishing, and general renovation carpentry
Run the day-to-day of the jobsite: sequencing tasks, coordinating trades/subcontractors, and keeping the job moving
Read and work from drawings/permits for SDU conversions
Oversee quality control and ensure work meets code and client expectations
Mentor and direct junior crew members and labourers on site
Manage material and tool needs on site; flag issues before they become delays




Enforce jobsite safety practices and maintain a clean, organized site
Communicate progress and issues to the office/project manager

What You Bring
5–8+ years of hands-on experience in residential renovations or construction
Proven ability to run a site and lead a small crew, not just take direction
Strong carpentry/framing/finishing skills
Comfortable reading drawings and permits
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Own tools
Robust communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with SDU conversions or similar renovation work is a robust asset
