Web Specialist - Intermediate:
On behalf of our Government Services client, Procom is searching for a Web Specialist - Intermediate for a 9-month role. This position is onsite 5 days a week at our client’s Toronto office.

Web Specialist - Intermediate - Job Description:
This role involves working on a critical website development project. The candidate will be responsible for developing and transforming an online public-facing website and internal intranet site, focusing on accessibility and responsive design.

Web Specialist - Intermediate - Responsibilities:
Develop website components and custom web templates per UX/UI design specifications
Create website graphics and navigational components
Research and integrate web plugins to meet design specifications
Work with stakeholders and technical staff to implement a recent user-centric WordPress intranet site
Develop, update, analyze, and edit content and functionality for websites
Ensure websites are standards compliant for the Government of Ontario
Document best practices for ongoing maintenance of the Ontario Court of Justice intranet
Translate UX/UI designer specifications into functional website components





Web Specialist - Intermediate - Mandatory Skills:
Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and JavaScript Web frameworks (NodeJS, React, Vue, Angular)
Experience with Open Source software initiatives such as Linux, WordPress, WordPress Plugins, and Drupal
Experience with Lucene-based search engines (Solr, Elasticsearch)
Experience in interface design, implementation, and testing
Experience designing websites for multiple languages and audiences
Experience in accessibility testing and knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards

Web Specialist - Intermediate – Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with government web standards
Robust problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Excellent communication skills for team discussions and training
Familiarity with Git and Apache

Web Specialist - Intermediate – Assignment Length:
This is a 9-month contract position.
