As a sessional instructor, you’ll play a key role in the Awi’nakola Adult Upgrading Program, focusing on engaging and culturally grounded learning. Connect with students and enhance their language skills while fostering a respectful and supportive classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan inclusive learning activities for diverse adult learners • Deliver lessons in Kwak'wala tailored to varying abilities • Evaluate student progress and provide coaching support • Collaborate with local Indigenous leaders and Knowledge Keepers • Document student achievements and participation accurately
Requirements: • Experience working with fluent Kwak’wala speakers • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and educational methodologies • Desired: Master’s Degree in Indigenous Education or Language • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills • Ability to adapt teaching methods for individual learners
