Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAS Technical Lead to support a large-scale SAS-to-Snowflake modernization and migration program . The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in Base SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Macros, ETL/Data Processing, and enterprise data warehousing concepts , with the ability to analyze complex SAS estates and guide migration teams through discovery, assessment, conversion, validation, and cutover activities.

The candidate will act as the primary SAS SME , helping define migration strategies, assess workloads, identify dependencies, and ensure successful conversion of SAS assets to Snowflake-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead discovery and assessment activities for SAS modernization and migration initiatives.
- Analyze existing SAS landscapes including SAS programs, Enterprise Guide (EGP) projects, macros, datasets, reports, and scheduled jobs.
- Conduct workshops with business and technical stakeholders to understand business processes, reporting requirements, and application dependencies.
- Perform complexity assessment and classification of SAS workloads into migration categories such as Migrate, Refactor, Re-engineer, Archive, or Retire.
- Analyze SAS code, macro frameworks, ETL processes,



and data transformations to identify migration approaches and conversion strategies.
- Support Proof of Concept (PoC) activities by selecting representative SAS workloads and validating migration feasibility.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development and migration teams throughout the program lifecycle.
- Review converted code, validate business logic, and support production cutover and hypercare activities.

Required Skills
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in SAS development and data engineering projects.

- Experience analysing and supporting large SAS application landscapes.
- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, and Data Migration concepts.
- Experience performing application discovery, dependency analysis, and impact assessment.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business logic embedded within SAS assets.
- Experience working with large data volumes and complex batch processing workflows.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
